Use this video to help save Community Radio in Your Area!

At Prometheus, a big part of our mission is to demystify complex technical and media policy issues for regular people. And because some issues are just too wonky for words, this time we've made a video. Prometheus policy interns April Glaser and Margaret Roth wrote and produced a four-minute video piece to explain the FCC's recent proposal to save channels for low power community radio.

The FCC's policy is wonky, but it's important. The plan will help determine whether there will be new community stations available in cities across the country, setting rules that are slightly different in each city based on the number of channels available in that radio market. Because they are still deciding how the rules will apply locally, the FCC needs to hear that community radio matters in YOUR town or city. The FCC is asking the public to comment on the plan  by August 29.
