Find an LPFM-trained attorney to assist your application!

Prometheus partners with National Lawyers' Guild and California Lawyers for the Arts to train legal professionals to support LPFM applicants.

In June, the Prometheus Radio Project partnered with the National Lawyers' Guild (NLG) and California Lawyers for the Arts (CLA) to train attorneys to provide discount legal support to low power FM (LPFM) applicants. In a series of online seminars, attorneys learned how to navigate the myriad of legal and bureaucratic hurdles that await LPFM clients. These seminars included training on how to:

  • Analyze mutually exclusive applications for legal compliance.
  • Prepare Petiions to Deny and Informal Objections.
  • Defend against Petitions to Deny and Informal Objections.
  • Negotiate and draft settlement agreements and timeshare proposals.

These attorneys have a demonstrated commitment to social justice and community radio, and their support may be indispensable to your station getting on the air.

There are a number of ways you can reach out to these LPFM-trained attorneys:

  1. California Lawyers for the Arts: call (888) 775 8995 or visit their lawyer referral page.
  2. National Lawyers' Guild: find an LPFM-training attorney through the NLG's referral directory.
  3. Radio Spark: contact an attorney directtly from the Radio Spark attorney list.
